He wants every worthy voice and story to receive thoughtful care.
He patiently finds sources, compares versions, and traces the useful thread through a crowded collection.
He is learning when the evidence is sufficient to take a reasonable next step instead of searching for one more account.

Otis began as a book mender and cataloger. Years of repairing damaged pages and comparing copied passages taught him why versions differ—and why preserving a telling is not the same as claiming it is the whole truth.
